NewsMonday, 9 August 2010: Today is the day of first listing of Multimedia Polska’s bonds on Catalyst, the bond market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The value of the Company’s bonds just introduced to trading is PLN 400m, which makes the issue the largest ever issue of corporate bonds on the Catalyst market (excluding bond issues by banks). Multimedia Polska’s bonds were issued on May 13th 2010. The issue proceeds have already been used by the Company to reduce bank debt and buy back its shares. In the recently completed first phase of the buy-back process, the Company bought back 20% of its shares. "Multimedia Polska’s track record on the Polish capital market is becoming more and more extensive. We feel an important part of the market. In November 2006, when our shares debuted on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, we witnessed what was then the largest ever public offering by a private company in Poland. Today we are launching an issue of PLN 400m bonds on the Catalyst market. With the exception of bank issues, it is the largest ever issue launched by a company whose bonds are admitted to trading on the Catalyst market”, said Andrzej Rogowski, President of Multimedia Polska. Our decision to introduce the bonds to trading is beneficial both for investors and the Company. Bonds are a new, alternative form of investment we offer to institutions interested in our business. The issue, combined with the completion of the first phase of the buy-back process and the planned share capital decrease, will enable us not only to refinance bank debt, but also to improve the efficiency of our use of equity. The decision to issue the bonds was made by the Annual General Shareholders Meeting held on May 10th 2010. At the same time the Annual General Shareholders Meeting passed a resolution to take a bank loan of PLN 330m. The bond issue and the loan placed approximately PLN 730m at the Company’s disposal. The funds were used to refinance bank debt of PLN 430m (including PLN 400m under a syndicated loan contracted in December 2009). In effect, the Company’s bank debt shrank by PLN 100m. The balance of the issue proceeds, approximately PLN 300m, was allocated for the share buy-back. More ... Friday, 25 June 2010: Multimedia Polska has announced another tender offer for its shares. Friday, 22 January 2010: Multimedia Polska reaches one hundred thousand digital subscribers Multimedia Polska has now reached 100,000 DTV subscribers, up over 40% from 2008 year-end. ‘Digital television is without a doubt one of the best-received services in Multimedia Polska history. Our adding 100,000 subscribers in only 18 months from commercial launch must be considered a great success. It confirms our strategy of keeping Multimedia offering up to date with new and innovative home entertainment and telecom products,’ comments Andrzej Rogowski, President of Multimedia Polska. DTV is subscribed primarily by double and triple play customers. Approximately one-third of our DTV subscribers enjoy Multimedia’s voice and data services as well. All DTV users have HD enabled decoders. The positive response we have had to our DTV product is connected with our constant effort to keep expanding our offering. We added some 40 new digital channels to our DTV offering during the year. Presently, 99 channels are available, including 11 in HD. An important incentive to take out Multimedia’s digital product is a wide selection of 17 thematic bundles, including Sports, Film, Kids, Adult, HD, Canal+ HD, HBO HD etc. VoD – home video rental December 2009 was our record month as far as the number of rentals is concerned. We doubled the number of rentals from the same period last year, which we believe is connected with our attractive video library of over 1,000 titles. That is much more than any other VoD enabled cable carrier provides at the moment. Our video-on-demand is appreciated by independent experts. Multimedia Polska was ranked among the top three video-on-demand providers by Sat Kurier no. 1/2010 in a ranking of seven largest carriers who already have the product on offer. The criteria involved pricing per rental, activation fee, the number, quality and variety of titles available and the system of home video rental itself. aMazing – interactive television Digital TV opens doors to many new products. Apart from the popular video-on-demand and the growing number of HD channels, Multimedia has rolled out Poland’s first interactive TV channel aMazing. By pressing the aMazing button on the remote controls, viewers can take part in competitions, answer questions that pop up on the screen and win prizes, thus getting to know the properties of digital television is a fun way. They can also influence the content proposed by its creators. There is no texting or phoning in – all there is to do is press the button on the remote control. DTV is now available to some 650,000 homes.
