Multimedia Polska's history of innovationMultimedia Polska continues to implement the highest technological standards in the industry: 2001 – Multimedia was one of the first cable TV operators to launch broadband internet services on a commercial scale. 2004 – Multimedia Polska was a pioneer in triple play (video, voice and data) in Poland. 2005 – The Company was one of the first in Poland to introduce digital telephony using VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) offered to cable television subscribers. 2006 (April) – Multimedia was the first Polish company to launch digital television services offered to PSTN subscribers. 2007 (May) – Multimedia was the first cable TV operator in the country to roll out high definition television - HDTV - with return path. 2007 (September) – Once again Multimedia was the first cable TV operator in the country to roll out video on demand - VoD. 2009 (November) – The Company launched mobile broadband services (mobilNET). 2009 (December) – The Company launched mobile voice services (mobilFON). 2010 (January) – Multimedia launched the first interactive television channel in Poland called aMazing. Over the last 3 years, the Group’s capital expenditure reached ca. PLN 700m, most of which was spent on upgrading and expanding our networks and introducing new technologies. We anticipate that most of our future capital expenditure will be directly linked to the launch of new services and products, such as digital television over cable, maintenance and upgrades of our networks, IT systems, as well as research and development. The company's nationwide network, with over 80 interconnection points with other operators including TPSA and mobile operators, is our vital asset which enables us to offer high-quality services at moderate prices. Having our own network and interconnection points allow us to significantly reduce the costs of carrying voice traffic. |
