About Multimedia

Multimedia is a leading nationwide cable operator, provider of digital television with video on demand, broadband and mobile data, and fixed-line and mobile voice (mobilFON). We were the first operator in the country to offer High Definition Television (HDTV) with many add-on modalities, such as video on demand (VoD), personal video recorder (PVR) etc.

The Company has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 2006.

We are following the strategy of active consolidation, construction of cable networks in new regions, and network acquisitions. In the first half of 2010 the number of homes passed by Multimedia networks reached over 1.2 million HPs as a result. Service bundling and new products implemented into Multimedia’s offering in 2007, such as digital cable television (DTV) and video on demand (VoD), are also increasingly gaining popularity.

As of 30 June 2010, Multimedia provided its services to a total of some 674,000 customers of which some 311,000 customers used at least two Multimedia services (among TV, voice and internet), including some 93,000 triple play subscribers (combining all three services). As at 30 June 2010, the company was delivering ca. 1.27m services.

Multimedia is among the most innovative Polish companies. It was the first Polish operator to launch digital television services for its telephony subscribers (IPTV) in spring 2006. It was also among the first operators to offer triple play, digital telephone services (VoIP) for cable television subscribers and broadband internet. The Company was the first operator in Poland to introduce High Definition Television (HDTV) in May 2007 and Video on Demand (VoD) in September 2007.
In Q4 2009, we introduced a new digital functionality - PVR which allows users to record, rewind and replay programmes. We also launched mobile internet (mobilNET) and mobile voice services (mobilFON) to our customers.
From January 2010, Multimedia Polska subscribers have access to the first interactive TV channel in Poland called aMazing. Using real-time communication, the viewers can vote, take part in contests and competitions and actively interact with television content.

In the period from 1 January to 31 December 2009, revenues of Multimedia Group amounted to PLN 526.3m, the key performance indicator - adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) reached PLN 265.1m, up 12% from 2008. The 2009 net profit was PLN 64.1m.*

Multimedia Group’s revenues in the period from 1 January to 30 June 2010 amounted to some PLN 278.6m, with adjusted EBITDA of PLN 146.4m, and a net profit of PLN 37.3m.**
